Hi everyone,
So tomorrow we play round 2 of the Birthday Cup and the format for this day is foursomes, otherwise known as alternate shot. The rules for this format are fairly simple - each pair take alternate shots until the ball is holed out. However, irrespective of who holes the final putt, one person will tee off on the odd numbered holes and the other partner will tee off on the even numbered holes. Playing handicaps are calculated by adding the partners playing handicaps together and then dividing by two ( numbers ending in 0.5 round up ). All competitors who played in the first round on Saturday 4th March have been pre-entered and your cards will be printed in advance. Please collect from, and then return your cards to the pro shop at the completion of your round. Entry to the scramble is optional - please confirm with the shop staff if you would like to participate in this. If you did not play in the first round but would like to try the Foursomes format then you are welcome to do so ( along with the scramble ).
Tee times - tomorrow those playing in the Birthday Cup have been booked to play in groups of six. Essentially this is the same as a group of three as there are only 3 balls in play. If you have been allocated a tee time for two people and you are only 1 minute behind a four - then obviously you both play with that group of four. ie. 7.30am - 4 names booked, 7.31am - 2 names booked - these six people play together
For those not participating in the Birthday Club the pro shop will be running a scramble for stableford and two's. Please note that the jackpot is not available to be won
SUMMER CUP
This year the Summer Cup was won by Carden Mulholland. Carden was the leader after three rounds and won without improving on his three round score. Congratulations Carden - your trophy and prize will be presented on Hamper Day.
Good luck to all in the Birthday Cup tomorrow
