Hi everyone,
Provided we do not get any significant rain tonight the course will be open tomorrow for "carry bags only". With very little rain in the last couple of days the course is starting to dry out and Den is hopeful that we will be able to use trundlers on Sunday.
Captains and Vice-Captains trophies:
If you are still alive in these trophies please schedule your next match as soon as possible. Now that the course is open again we will reset the dates for matches to be completed by and these will be added to the draw sheets in the Mens room.
For those that missed last weeks newsletter this next piece is a direct copy and paste from that.
The current state of the course gives us a good opportunity to try something new with the Saturday scramble. As usual there will be one scramble which will be split into two divisions if there are sufficient entries. However the change will be that each person can choose which course they play. The options available will be: Achilles-Red, Royalist-White and Leander-Blue. When registering at the kiosk please tick the course of your choice and your playing handicap will be automatically calculated. Just a word of warning though - if you play a different set of tees from your playing partners please be aware of this throughout the round. There is a two stroke penalty for playing from the wrong place and the mistake must be corrected!
WHS - World Handicap System. The handicap system and course rating system was changed to a Worldwide System in 2020 and this change allowed for this type of competition set-up. The intention is to trial this system on selected Saturday's and review the results to ensure that the system is equitable at our course.
