Hail on the Course Yesterday...

Hi all,

This Saturday is qualifying day for the Pat O'Connor Cup. For those new to the club this is a pairs event played in the best ball (4BBB) format. Top 16 pairs qualify for this matchplay event. This week is also round 1 of the Sterling Cup which is two rounds of 4BBB - second round is Saturday 12th August.

Next Saturday is another round for the Pengelly Trophy which is for best 6 of 9 rounds of net medal. However the scramble that day will be stableford.

As we have club competitions on the next few Saturdays it will be mandatory to play off the Achilles-Red tees in order to enter the scramble.

For those members still alive in the Captains and Vice-Captains trophies please remember to contact your opponent and schedule your match.

Just a reminder that the rescheduled Strokeplay Champs are due to start on Saturday 16/9 for the Seniors. All grades then play Saturday/Sunday of the weekend 23 and 24th September. Entries will open late August

Gulf Harbour Country Club - Closure

As many of you will have heard over the last week Gulf Harbour Country Club has shut its doors stating that it is not able to operate in a sustainable way. 

Fears on the Hibiscus Coast are that the developer / owner is looking to re-zone the land and then potentially build on the course.
