Tee Times - No Shows

We have a new DotGolf software update that allows us to now create reports of any no-shows in our Tee Sheet. We realise that our Tee Sheet is often fully booked, but we have had an ongoing issue with people booking (or booking-in their friends) and then not showing up for their designated Tee Time. This means that many people miss out. In order to increase available tee times and stop this from happening we will be implementing some procedures. We will start with warnings – and then move onto harsher penalties such as removing Online Booking rights for members who are no-shows.

To avoid this happening to you, please cancel (with 24hrs notice) any booking times that you will be unable to attend. If you have to cancel late, or you are unable to attend due to a genuine reason (emergency etc) then please send an email to: golf@waitematagolf.co.nz explaining your issue – include your membership number and the tee time in question.

Repairs Underway

Note that there are repairs underway on the course - ropes / hoops / signs should not be moved at any time. They are there for a reason

4th Green

This is still out of play and undergoing repairs. We need to wait for further growth until the green has fully recovered. Keep off please.

9th & 15th Green

Areas are being re-turfed and hooped off. Do NOT remove the hoops or walk over these areas.

Again - our greens staff are doing their best to keep the course green and playable. Please do your part to assist them in this.

Course Care

Winter golf is in full swing and it's great seeing the course in such good condition.

With that in mind it is disappointing seeing members taking divots out of the course and not repairing them. Please use the sand to fill them as well.

There is also a lack of repairing pitch marks on greens and raking bunkers. If your ball hits the green it has left a pitch mark, please find it and fix it.

The course should be left in the condition you expect it to be when you play.

I appreciate some members may be unable to bend down in which case someone else in your group should be able to assist.

If you're not sure how to repair a pitch mark, then please watch this two-minute youtube video: link here

Thanks,

Carden Mulholland (Club Captain)

Vacancy - Cook

Our long-established chef Petr is leaving us at the end of July. He's off to spend more time with his family and catch up on life. We wish him all the best for his new adventures, and are thankful for all the delicious food and experiences he's provided so far. We will miss him and his delicious sausage rolls!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef to help run the kitchen / cafe after Petr leaves. Please see our Seek or TradeMe ads for further details.
