Kitchen Renovations

We're pleased to announce that kitchen renovations underway. The building should be fully completed by the end of next week. We love the new look (and space!). This should make our kitchen a more user-friendly space for our staff. Please come upstairs and take a look - we're sure that you'll agree this is a much-needed improvement.

Hi everyone,

Last Sunday saw the first of the mixed pairs events scheduled for the year and we had a great turnout of 86 golfers. The weather was hot and the scoring even hotter with the top eleven pairs scoring 45 points or better in the best ball format. The winners were Joanna Hopkins and Michael Davison on 50pts from Matthew Knight and Jacqui Green on 48pts and Emily and Jeremy Wagon on 47pts. Everyone enjoyed the day with the top eleven pairs taking home a prize.

We are pleased to announce that CRAIGS INVESTMENT PARTNERS will be sponsoring the mixed pairs events for the rest of this year and that NEW WORLD DEVONPORT will be also adding to the prize pool. A big thank you to both companies. Our next event will be on Sunday 4th May - entries will be open closer to the time.

Pauline and Gary

Jacquee Pedrick

Handicap:  46.4

How long have you been at WGC?:  About nine years.

What got you interested in golf?: I needed an activity to do when I retired so golf was perfect for that.

What’s your favourite hole here and why?: The 11th. It’s a bit of a challenge and if I can get around the bend, it’s a good round.

What’s the best golfing tip you’ve been given?: Watch the ball. If you do a longer swing, the ball goes further.

If you could play a round with anybody who would you pick, and why?: Lydia Ko, we’ve all seen her do so well throughout the years. She’s also a very good role model for women in sport.

Where would you like to play one day, and why?: Saint Andrews. I’ve visited before but never played so I suppose that would be quite nice.

What’s your favourite thing about WGC?: The people. The staff, the friends I’ve made, everyone’s very nice at the club. It’s also awesome to see more young players, especially mums with kids, getting into the game. If I could give one tip it would be not to wait until retirement to start!
